Higher Education qualifications other than those offered by the universities and self-accrediting institutions are able to be offered by a non self-accrediting higher education institution.
These institutions are registered by the various commonwealth, state and territory government higher education accreditation authorities as a higher education institution and each course they offer must be accredited by the authority. An institution may not operate without both registration and course accreditation.
Definitive advice on approved institutions and accredited qualifications should be obtained from the relevant state or territory accrediting authorities.
These authorities maintain the registers of the institutions approved to issue accredited AQF qualifications. The information these state and territory Registers contain is managed by their higher education accreditation authorities.
The Registers are online and can be accessed here, through the state or territory links on the map to the right or via the authorities' respective websites.
